The biopharmaceutical facility of SciGen is situated in the Biotech Park in Pune, 130 km from Mumbai. This facility is poised to go commercial by 2012.

Upon completion, the facility would be a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for rHu insulin, rHu GCSF (including PEG-GCSF), therapeutic proteins and biologics.

Spread over a landscape of 40,000 sq. metres, it has a R&D area for cell culture, a quality control facility and a centralised utility area.

Once commissioned, the manufacturing area would have the capacity to process 5,000 L of microbial broth up to lyophilised API and 600 L of mammalian cell culture up to concentrates. The plant is being commissioned to meet/conform to standards of EMEA and US FDA.

The Company is poised to take on contract manufacturing of biologics and biosimilars.
